Creature of the Night

The Earth starts to tremble
As the Night creeps slowly around,
As the hour strikes midnight
There’s blood to be found.

The streets become narrow
And the insolent fools,
Go about their own lives
But the creature still drools.

It waits for the moment
The strike of the clock,
The taste of its prey
It shall not mock,
The creature approaches…
An unfortunate soul
Stands ready to weep.
It slowly moves forward
And reaches its goal…

The cracking of bones
Is no longer there,
But the smell and the sight
Will make you aware,
The creature goes back
In its corner of Night
But ready to return
When there’s no longer light…
